Ethics of Debt Symposium (September 25-26, 2015)
As you plan your travel, please note that the conference will open with an early evening session on Friday, September 25th and conclude on the evening of Saturday, the 26th. Also note that there is no registration fee; an email confirmation of your intent to attend will serve as your registration. Here are some important travel, transportation, and lodging details:
Airport and Transportation
Iowa State University is located in Ames, Iowa approximately 40 miles north of Des Moines. If you are traveling by plane, we recommend that you fly into Des Moines International Airport (DSM). We will provide a free shuttle from the airport to campus on Friday afternoon, returning to the airport on Sunday. If you wish to use this service, you should email your travel info to the conference organizers. At the airport, you can also rent a car or take the Executive Express Shuttle ($56 round trip to campus; $86 directly to the Holiday Inn Ames Conference Center at ISU).
Other airport options (each about three hours away) are: Kansas City, Missouri (MCI); Minneapolis, Minnesota (MSP); and Omaha, Nebraska (OMA).
Hotel
We have reserved a block of rooms for symposium participants at the Holiday Inn Ames Conference Center at ISU, located two miles away from campus. A shuttle van will run between campus and the hotel, so you do not need a car. The hotel rate is $159 USD plus tax. Rooms are reserved for the nights of Thursday, September 24th (should you arrive early), Friday, the 25th and Saturday, the 26th. There are also other fine hotels in Ames; however, this is Family Weekend on campus, and rooms are booking up quickly. Please plan accordingly.
